The Core-Derek Butler Fellowship

THE CORE - DEREK BUTLER THREE YEAR FELLOWSHIP FOR RESEARCH IN THE SPHERE OF UPPER GASTROINTESTINAL TRACT DISEASES AND CONDITIONS

This is a 3-year full-time fellowship for research into diseases of the upper gastrointestinal tract including cancer.  Research should be on the oesophagus, stomach or duodenum.  Studies on the liver and pancreas are excluded as funded elsewhere.  Preference will be given to candidates who intend to pursue research in the future. In making the award, emphasis will be placed not only on the project itself, but also on the candidate’s potential and the quality of the training proposed.

The total value of the fellowship is £210,000 to cover salary costs and consumables over 3 years.

This fellowship was awarded in March 2017.  The next invitation for applications will be autumn 2019. If you would like to sign up for research award updates, email info@corecharity.org.uk and specify your subject as ‘Research’ to be added to the mailing list.
